If you upgrade to Captools/net Enterprise version, you should upgrade your database by installing a version of the "full" MS-SQL Server.  The procedure for this will depend upon whether you are installing on the same server machine on which Captools/net currently resides, or upon a new machine.

Backup - Before installing MS-SQL Server we recommend that you backup your existing Captools/net  MS SQL-Express database to a separate directory on your hard drive, and also back it up to a second location, either on another computer or to another hard drive or to cloud storage.

Same Server - Install MS-SQL Server on the same machine upon which Captools/net is installed.  Follow the installation prompts to connect the SQL Server to the Captools/net database.

New Server - Shut down all the Captools/net server applications on the old server machine, including the CTTasker and CTServer processes, by using the Windows Task Manager to end these processes.  Install the Captools/net server applications on the new machine from the Captools/net CD or Captools/net program download from the Captools.com website. Move copies of the CaptoolsDB.mdf and CaptoolsDB.ldf files from the old machine to the new server machine.  Place them in a new "CaptoolsNet\Runtime" folder on the new server machine.  Install MS-SQL Server on the new server machine, following the installation prompts to connect it to the Captools/net database.

Warning - When moving to a "full" version of MS-SQL Server, it must have the same version number or later as your Captools/net database was previously installed on.  I.e. if your SQL Express is SQL Express 2012, you must install MS-SQL Server 2012 or later, not an earlier version of SQL Server.
