As noted elsewhere in this document, some of Captools/net functionality is limited to higher level versions of the software.  These versions of the software are intended primarily for financial professionals who manage client accounts, manage a large number of private accounts (e.g. family office), require pooled funds accounting and/or who require the more sophisticated analysis, reporting, data interfaces, and data manipulation tools available at these program levels.

 

Several levels of "Pro" versions are available, from "Pro-1" to "Pro-4", with available features escalating from Level 1 to Level 4.  "Pro" versions are designed to operate using the MS-SQL Express database engine which is installed with Captools/net.  These versions are appropriate for the small to mid-size money managers.

 

"Enterprise" versions of Captools/net is designed to take advantage of the Microsoft SQL Server database engine.  The chief advantage of this database software is that it is designed to support more users and a larger database size than the MSDE database engine.  Accordingly, Captools/net Enterprise is intended for users who have a larger number of users and/or who are handling a larger number of accounts.  Typically, this would be large money management firms, small to mid-size broker/dealers, and other financial institutions.
